Our Mexico travels include Cozumel and Costa Maya on Caribbean cruises, plus Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlán on our October 2025 Navigator of the Seas sailing. Puerto Vallarta became our favorite stop that week: a secluded beach and plentiful fish while snorkeling made it an experience we still remember fondly.

Our First Cruise aboard Norwegian Dawn
A little disclaimer before we get started: this cruise was a long time ago, and we've learned a lot about cruising since then. This was our very first cruise—the trip that made us fall in love with cruising and ultimately led to many more adventures at sea. Because it was our first, there's definitely some nostalgia and probably a little bias in how we remember it. We didn't know what to look for, what questions to ask, or even what kind of cruisers we would eventually become. So rather than a traditional review, think of this as a look back at where our family's cruising story began.

Spring Break 2025 aboard Norwegian Getaway
Norwegian Getaway was another NCL ship that fit our family really well—and it introduced us to one of our favorite spots on any Norwegian ship: the Sugarcane Mojito Bar. This was the first cruise where we discovered it, and it quickly became a place we loved stopping for a drink and relaxing together. Between the familiar laid-back Norwegian atmosphere, good dining choices, and a great Caribbean itinerary, Getaway gave us the kind of easy, fun family cruise that keeps bringing us back to NCL.
